Thanksgiving and Football: Turkey and Pigskin

This Thanksgiving week was one for the books for College football with all the wins and losses and
commotions that erupted over social media. My weekend had a great start as I got to kick it off with the
UCF/Tulane game in Louisiana, which was a nice break from business I already had planned in the area.
To top off the Knight’s big win, due to RoofClaim.com and UCF Athletics strong relationship, we were
lucky enough to have some of our new management watch the game from the UCF sidelines.
The game was a great win for UCF. The game was close, 34 to 31. However, they were still able to pull
out a much-needed victory.

The next day, I got to attend the New Orleans Saints/Panthers game. It was an exciting game,
especially since the first points scored in the game were made by UCF Alumni.Later that week
I got to celebrate a great Thanksgiving with friends and family. The day was a lot more
enjoyable with us avoiding a road loss.

On Friday, UCF ended the regular season by handily beating USF. The game was the same night as
Senior night and it was nice knowing the Knights were able to end the season with their final
victory on their home turf, hitting their 20 th straight win at Spectrum Stadium. As part of Senior
night, I got to watch Nate Evans in his last game. The kid has a great head and heart. I wish him
the best of luck in all his future endeavors.

This weekend FAU won against Southern Miss with the RoofClaim.com logos on the field. The owls
came out on top with a final score of 34 to 17. Chris Robison threw for three touchdowns, clinching
the Conference USA East Division titles for the Owls. FAU has invited me to see the Conference USA
Championship game on Dec 7.

There were reports that Brian Yurachek, the Arkansas athletic director, was in Boca Raton yesterday to
talk to Lane about possibly becoming the head coach at Arkansas.

I haven’t been lucky enough to meet Coach Lane Kiffin yet. However, if Mr. Yurachek and Arkansas is
looking to hire him, Lane may want to think really hard about it. Like many others, I saw the Nebraska
game and Coach Frost didn’t look like a happy camper. Ultimately, his move to the Cornhuskers was a
step down, not a step up, for his career. You should build your own athletic program and not willingly
get on the Titanic. Just my opinion… Coach Kiffin, I look forward to meeting you soon.
